Virtual Field Day: Expanding Small Grains Into Your Cropping System

The UW-Madison Extension offices of Buffalo and Chippewa Counties will host a small grain production virtual field day on AUGUST 5TH, 2020 beginning at 5:30pm. Small grains can fit into many cropping systems and add diversity for crop management.

 

Topics covered during the event include malting barley production basics, fungicide and nitrogen fertilizer application, and variety evaluation. Oat fertility and variety selection will be covered. Hard red spring wheat variety selection and nitrogen application will also be discussed. Speakers will be Carl Duley, Buffalo County Agriculture Extension Agent and Jerry Clark, Chippewa County Agriculture Extension Agent.
