The La Crosse Interstate Fair holds so many wonderful opportunities for 4-H youth to gain: mastery skills, belonging skills, independence. There is so much educational goodness and I want to share that with adults, too. One of the things we wanted to do for years was hold a friendly competition.

Members – I invite you to challenge a parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle or other loved adult to submit a fair exhibit similar to yours. Maybe it’s cake decorating, or an animal. Maybe it’s knitting or photography. If you and a parent both exhibit in the same department (you in junior and the adult in open class) you and your loved adult are guaranteed a special 4-H ribbon this year. The winner (whoever places best) gets a merit ribbon, and the second placer gets a participation ribbon. And we want to see pictures of these challenges for the Cloverline.
