Altruistic August

This month we’re focused on the power of kindness and how our daily acts create ripples. Although the world sometimes seems a harsh and unkind place, countless small acts of generosity, friendship and goodness happen every day. And together we can help turn those ripples into a tide of kindness…

Jump Back July

We are very good at jumping to conclusions, springing into action, and devising solutions before we even have problems.  We plan for emergencies, organize and strategize, and think about how to achieve our goals.  And planning and organizing are positive things, yet sometimes, we can get stuck in the pattern of looking at potential negative outcomes.

Using Corn and Soybean as cover crops on Prevented Planted acres in Wisconsin during 2019

For a crop to be considered a cover crop RMA states that “For crop insurance purposes, a cover crop is a crop generally recognized by agricultural experts as agronomically sound for the area for erosion control or other purposes related to conservation or soil improvement.” Soybean and corn both meet this requirement. However please remember that BMP’s must be followed to meet this requirement. Every producer who  eclares Prevent Planting must get approval from his or her crop insurance agent before any Prevent Planting management plan is implemented.
