4-H Volunteer Recognition

It takes many special people to keep 4-H running year to year. And while we try our best to acknowledge how amazing our volunteers are every day, sometimes it means more coming from someone else witnessing or receiving their hard work. Below are a few ways you can acknowledge the great work our 4-H volunteers do. Nominate someone today!

County Based Awards

These awards are given out annually at the Holiday Leader Party in December. To have someone awarded in the current year, be sure to get your nomination in to the UW-Extension Office by October 1. The 4-H Leaders Association will vote on the nominations at their October or November meeting.

Honor Leader Award: This can only be awarded to someone once, and that person must be an approved certified volunteer in 4-H. To nominate someone, please submit this form. To see if someone has received this award already please review the past recipient list (in alphabetical and yearly order).

Friend of 4-H Award:  This is given to a an organization, business or community individual (not a 4-H Leader) that has been a supporter of 4-H programs, and this support is not to their benefit. Usually these supporters gave time, donations, facilities and other things to assist in the mission of 4-H. To see previous award winners, please see past recipient list (in yearly order).

State Based Awards

From time to time, it’s nice to give that special volunteer an extra big Thank You. Consider nominating that person for a state-wide recognition award. We are ready to assist you in this process if needed!
